Yacht Charters in Peristera Island
The island of Peristera is located in the group of Sporades and particularly, east of the Alonisos island. The island appeared to be almost uninhabited during the year with only 5 people living in a little settlement, Vasiliko. Peristera has 2 safe harbours, the harbour of Peristeri and Vasiliko. Peristeri is the greek word for "dove" and it was named like that due to its shape.
Peristera was inhabited in the ancient times and in Byzantine times was home to the Saracen pirates. Due to that it was called Sarakonisi (Saracen island) . The harbour of Vasiliko was serving as a base to the pirates. In recent times the harbour is being used by the Greek Nave for exercises.
The island is best reached with small boats and yachts from Alonisos. You can rent a boat and sail around the island while visiting the group of Sporades. With a rented yacht you can dock at any of the harbours on the island or explore the hidden beaches for a relaxing time.
If you want to enjoy the ultimate relaxing cruise you can hire a boat skippered and crewed to enjoy a beautiful cruise.
